So my question is will a dvi d dual link to displayport cable run 144hz whereas the dvi d end is plugged into the monitor and the displayport plugged into the gpu.
I am redoing my whole office and will be moving my desktop from on top of my desk to down below it so i.
Basically it doesn t matter as long as you don t use hdmi 1 4 or single link dvi.

It is ideal for high end game playing and hd video streaming on your system.
Tried the hdmi port on the motherboard the hdmi port on the graphics card and the display port on the graphics card.
Buy the monitor that s the cheapest of the three.

I have the xl2411z and it doesn t have a displayport port but dvi works fine with 144 hz and it comes with a dual link dvi cable.
Uhm the output has nothing to do with fps.
U aanimetor as said try the included cable first i had no issues with the included cable from my xg2401.

You can connect the displayport cable from the 1 4 on your gpu into the 1 2 into your monitor and work fine.

To output 1080p content at 144hz you will need either a dual link dvi a displayport or an hdmi 1 4 or higher though some monitors with hdmi 1 4 are limited to 60hz or 120hz cable.
It meets with the 1 4 version standards and compatible with dp dp and displayport.
Checked all cables and connections to be sure they were seated properly as the first time i was worried about breaking pins or snapping the ram.
The first monitor is hooked up through a dvi d dual link cable going by this diagram and is giving me 144hz.
I used to run 144hz with my old graphics card gtx 670 and it worked pretty well at least in the few games where i could achieve a well enough framerate.
