I laid ditra into a layer of thin set then a layer of thin set on top of the ditra and back buttered my tiles as i laid them.

Install over a wide range of substrates including plywood osb concrete gypsum heated floors etc.
The only time i ve seen it fail is due to incorrect installation.
Your tile then goes on the ditra.
